PokerStars Mobile Download Guide
PokerStars started to enter the mobile poker market in 2012 slowly by releasing their new app in various countries. PokerStars is now the biggest mobile poker room. We’re going to walk you through the download process and app features in this guide.
How to Download PokerStars Mobile on the iOS
PokerStars Mobile for the iOS is compatible with the iPhone 3G S, iPhone 4, iPad, iPad 2 and iPod Touch. Your iOS device needs to be running iOS 4.1.x or higher to run the app. You can update to the newest iOS by downloading the update from iTunes. iTunes allows real money mobile poker apps in their marketplace in jurisdictions where it isn’t restricted. To download the iOS app from PokerStars you need to go to the iTunes Store. If your country isn’t restricted you can download the app for free.
How to Download PokerStars Mobile on Android
Android mobile devices are becoming increasingly popular in today’s market. If your mobile device is running Android OS 2.2 or higher and has a minimum screen resolution of 800×480 you’ll be able to download the app and run it without any problem. If you have a newer Android device such as the Samsung Galaxy, Galaxy Nexus, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 / X13, Motorola Droid RAZR or multiple other Androids you’ll be able to play PokerStars Mobile. PokerStars Mobile Features
When you play on PokerStars Mobile you play in the same games as a player on the desktop software suite. Currently the two poker games compatible on the mobile apps are Holdem and Omaha. You can play cash games and tournaments on the apps. Zoom Poker is also a feature on the mobile app, but you’re unable to play in Home Games at the moment. Some of the smaller table/lobby features and filters on the desktop software won’t be available on the mobile app either at PokerStars.
Surprisingly, multi-tabling works great on the iOS and Android app at PokerStars. If you’re playing on an iPad you can play up to five poker tables at the same time and if you’re playing on any other iOS/Android device you can play up to four tables at once. One question a lot of players ask is if they can switch from a mobile device to a computer. The answer is no for cash games, but if you’re playing in a tournament you can switch from your mobile device to your desktop at anytime and only miss a few hands.
PokerStars has developed a Web Cashier that’s compatible with both of the apps. If you’re playing on the Android OS you can use the web cashier from the first time you join to make deposits, but iOS players need to deposit the 1st time on a desktop. Once you complete your 1st deposit using your computer you can use the Web Cashier on the iOS every time afterwards. One of the missing features of the Web Cashier currently is the ability to withdraw funds. You can only withdraw on your computer.
PokerStars Mobile Apps
PokerStars has also developed two other mobile apps for the iOS only that can be downloaded from iTunes. The apps are free to download from the iTunes Store. There is also a European Poker Tour (EPT) app that works on the iOS and Android.
