Bingo Rules

Bingo is a beautiful game that implies patience and rapid coordination between ears and eyes. Like all gambling it can cause addiction, therefore you should be careful how often you play!

In Bingo, each player receives a ticket, which has six cards with a total of 90 numbers. On each of these cards, you will find 27 spaces grouped in 9 columns x 3 rows. Each number appears only once, therefore it will not be repeated elsewhere on the sheet.

What you should do is to coordinate the numbers called by the host, with what you have on your ticket. Each bingo ticket has a certain bingo pattern. The pattern is announced early in the game, so you must pay attention in order to know what pattern you follow. The Bingo cards have the letters “BINGO” printed in rows. The host calles a combination of numbers that you need to highlight on your sheet. For example, if I-34 is called, you will have to look down on the column “I” for the number 34. If you have it, you mark it, and so on and so forth.

Your goal is to cover the pattern printed with the letters “BINGO” by coordinating the called letters and numers. The patterns can be U-shaped, T-shaped, etc., although it is usually horizontal or vertical. As soon as you complete a pattern, you have to shout “Bingo” and claim the prize. If there are other people who shout at the same time as you, the prize will be divided between all winners.

Bingo is usually played in specially designed rooms where many players can play simultaneously. The fun is represented by the tension in the room until one or more of the players manages to complete a Bingo. However, with the advent of the Internet, Bingo has flourished. There are different ways to play on the Internet, although the basics remain the same. You will need to complete a given pattern before anyone else in order to win. On the Internet, you won’t have to “shout”, the computer will do it for you. Some games offer you the possibility to talk to other players, you can have fun at your home, the office or any other place you have access to the Internet. The Chat, however, has a disadvantage as it can be distracting.

Playing online bingo, your cards are randomly selected by the computer and you have at your disposal a lot of cards, 100, or even more. Usually, you need more than three or four cards. A display panel or an assigned person will show the bingo  numbers and you will need to complete the displayed pattern to win the game.
